Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,

If you live in the City of Hilliard, please mark your calendars for an important upcoming event: the Hilliard City Council Democratic Primary Election on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

There is no Republican primary election in this race—because there is no contest on that side. This means that any voter, regardless of your current political party affiliation—or even if you are not affiliated with any party—can participate simply by requesting a Democratic ballot when you vote (whether early, by mail, or on Election Day). This is your opportunity to help decide which candidates will move forward to the general election in November and ultimately represent our community on Hilliard City Council.

The leaders we choose will make decisions on housing, community development, infrastructure, safety, small business support, and more. These choices affect our families, our livelihoods, and our future as a community. This election is also particularly important to the future growth and expansion of the Noor Islamic Cultural Center (NICC)—City Council members have a singular impact on land use, zoning, and development decisions that directly affect our ability to grow and serve our community better.

By showing up to vote, we demonstrate that our community is engaged and that we care about fairness, equity, and good governance. When we vote, we send a strong message that American Muslims are present, active, and invested in the future of our cities and neighborhoods. If we don’t show up, others will make the decisions for us.

Fill out this form to pledge to vote in the May 6 primary and we will send you more information about how to register, options for voting, and who/what will be on the ballot.
