Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

There is a moment in the life of every community when it is asked to build something larger than itself. This is ours.

We are building a masjid — but what we are truly building is the place our children will remember. The room where a daughter recites her first surah. The hall where a family gathers on the hardest day of their lives and finds they are not alone. The doorway a stranger walks through and leaves as a neighbor. Buildings are made of brick and steel. This one will be made of us.

And it will take all of us.

Some among you will give generously, and Allah knows what that costs. Some will lend through Karz-e-Hasana, and receive it back in full while the reward remains. Some will give an evening, a phone call, a skill, a car ride, a meal for the volunteers. Some will simply speak sincerely to a friend who never knew we needed help. And some will give what cannot be measured at all — a du’a in the last third of the night, when no one is watching.

Not one of these is small.

Please do not measure your contribution against anyone else’s. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah does not look at our forms or our wealth, but at our hearts and our deeds. A modest gift given with sincerity may weigh more on the Day of Judgment than a large one given without it. Give what you can, with a full heart, and leave the rest to Allah.

There is something else worth saying plainly: nothing that is built to last is built comfortably. There will be weeks when the total moves slowly and the work feels heavy. That is not a sign of failure — it is simply what building costs. What carries a community through those weeks is not money. It is the refusal to let each other carry it alone.

So we are asking you to step forward. Not because we are short of hands, but because this should belong to you as much as to anyone. Come and take a piece of it. Bring your skills, your network, your time, your children, your du’a. Ask us what needs doing, and we will find you a place — because there is a place for every single person reading this.

“Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim)

By Allah’s permission, every prayer offered in this masjid, every child taught, every neighbor helped, and every tear wiped away within these walls will be written in the record of those who helped raise it — long after our names are forgotten and long after we are gone.

That is the offer before us. Let us not let it pass.

May Allah accept from us, purify our intentions, unite our hearts, and grant us the tawfeeq to see this through.
